Set Up a New D7

Before using a new D7, you must check the miner and be aware of the necessary safety precautions. The steps for configuring your new D7 are listed below.

I. Before Using

  • Inspect the new miner

1. Visually inspect the box after receiving your miner package. Search for signs of damage. Take pictures of the package’s condition if it is damaged before opening it and looking at the miner inside. If the miner is also damaged, give customer service a quick call.

2. Examine the miner for aesthetic flaws. Check the corners of the miner for dents and cracks. Keep an eye out for broken cables and fan blades. If you discovered any damage or defects, kindly contact customer support right away.

3. For the miner, check the heat sinks. the miner’s front and back fans’ heat sinks should be inspected for any loose parts. Get in touch with customer service right away if you notice any loose heat sinks.

  • Know the precautions for the use

1) PoE is not supported.

2) Only Ethernet network connections can be made with the aid of a router or switch.

3) Use the miner where the temperature ranges from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius.

4) Keep the miner’s surrounding humidity below 65%

5) Keep the miner clean and free of catkins to prevent corrosion and/or heat buildup.

6) The supported web browsers are Chrome and Firefox.

7) The power connector and PSU cord need to be plugged in firmly.

II. Unboxing and Initial Setup

  1. Unpacking the Antminer D7:
    • Carefully unpack the Antminer D7 and ensure that all components are included.
    • Take note of any special instructions or safety precautions mentioned in the user manual.
  2. Connecting necessary cables and accessories:
    • Connect the power supply unit (PSU) to the Antminer D7, ensuring a secure connection.
    • Connect the Ethernet cable to the miner for network connectivity.
  3. Configuring network settings:
    • Power on the Antminer D7 and connect it to your local network.
    • Identify the miner’s IP address using your router or IP scanning software.
    • Access the web-based user interface using the IP address in a web browser.

III. Setting Up Bitmain Antminer D7 Server

To set up the server:

The IPReporter.zip file can only be opened with Microsoft Windows.

1. IPReporter.zip can be downloaded from this page.

2. Extract the file.

IP addresses are automatically distributed by the DHCP network protocol by default.

3. Right-click IPReporter.exe and run it as Administrator.

4. Select one of the following options:

■ To designate where farm servers should be placed, use the words Shelf, Step, and Position.

■ Standard; appropriate for home servers.

5. Click Start.

6. The IP Report button on the controller board should be clicked. For about five seconds, hold it down until it beeps.

On the screen of your computer, a window containing the IP address will be visible.

7. Enter the provided IP address into your web browser.

8. Continue by entering root as the username and password.

An optional Static IP address can be assigned in the Protocol section.

9. Type in the IP address, Subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server.

10. Click “Save”.

IV. Configuring Mining Pools

Setting up the Pool

To configure the server:

  • Click Settings marked below.

Note:

Although the fan speed percentage can be changed, we advise leaving it at the default value. If the fan speed percentage hasn’t been chosen yet, the server will change the fan speed automatically.

  • Set the options according to the following table:
OptionDescription
Mining addressGive the location of the pool you want to use.Three mining pools can be configured on the D7 servers, with the first pool (pool 1) having lower priority than the third pool (pool 3). If none of the pools with higher priority are available, the lower priority pools will only be used.
NameYour employee ID for the chosen pool.
Password (optional)The chosen employee’s password.
  • After configuring, press Save.
